Our Legacy
From a Silver Spring kitchen to Main Street
Paula grew up in a close-knit Greek family to immigrant parents. Her father, Constantine Caravasos — known as Dino Carr — was a restaurateur in Washington, DC. Her mother, Georgia, ran a hair salon in the basement of their Silver Spring home and cooked and baked every single day.
“Everything Mom made was from scratch. We didn't have anything processed in our home, and the majority of our food came from amazing recipes from my great grandmothers and grandmothers.”
The café is named for the two Georgias and Graces of the family — Paula's mother, the oldest living member of her family, and her daughter, the youngest generation. The name brings the women of the family full circle.
As Greeks, we show our love for people by cooking and sharing a homemade meal. We cook with only fresh ingredients and put endless love and care into all of our dishes. Our family is thrilled to continue our legacy for this wonderful community.
